DC universe is finally bringing the iconic superhero team, Teen Titans, to life through their much-awaited streaming service. DC fans have been crying out loud to bring Nightwing and the Titans to the DC Extended Universe and it seems like DC Entertainment has responded finally.
Greg Berlanti will be in producers seat for live-action drama ‘Teen Titans’ as it becomes the first series to debut on the DC Universe streaming service, it will be followed by a slate of shows including Doom Patrol, Young Justice: Outsiders, Swamp Thing, Stargirl, Harley Quinn, and Metropolis.
There has been official premiere date is 12th October. At a time where superhero dramas, especially the DC universe ones, are in an ascendancy on TV, Titans announcement arguably could not have come at a better time.
Teen Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, and Conor Leslie as Wonder Girl, with Curran Walters set to appear as Jason Todd.
According to the synopsis of the series “Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and lovable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.”
Here are a few things which have got us all hyped for the show:
Dick Grayson
We are finally going to see the first boy wonder in action as steps out of the shadows of his mentor, Batman. The trailer seems to indicate a rift between Dick and Batman as he seems to respond angrily by shouting “F*** Batman !” upon being asked about the Batman by one of the criminals.
This series might show the gradual transformation of Dick Grayson into Nightwing. There is so much to like about the humored Nightwing fighting crime in the streets of Bludhaven. His super cool costume and the fighting technique which he picked up from his mentor, the Batman, are just a few things which bring out the excitement surrounding the character.
Bruce Wayne has believed for a long time that Dick Grayson is the most capable to don the mantle of the Dark Knight.
The Batman?

Despite the success of the superhero dramas launched by DC Universe like The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and The Legends of Tomorrow, the one simple undeniable fact is that the Batman is still DC universe’s safest bet. Therefore, introducing some new characters from the Batman franchise is only going to result in more viewership.
The introduction of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd and the fact that Batman is just a phone call away is sure to get the viewers excited about the show. The show will also look into the rift between Dick and Bruce, and the reasons for which he decided to step out of the shadows of Batman.
The Team
The original team for the first season will include Robin, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, Hawk, and Dove. Although, we can expect to see more new additions to the team like Wonder Girl, who will be played by Conor Leslie. The team includes some very intriguing characters with interesting characters. Let’s take Raven, for example, she is the daughter of a demon, Trigon, who has been dormant for a long time but Raven’s powers might just awaken the world-conquering Demon. Another interesting character is Star Fire, she fled to Earth from her home planet of Tamaran as her elder jealous sister is hell bound on capturing her.
We are looking forward to seeing if Titans will be a hit or miss, but done right, Titans could end up being the very best of the latest crop of superhero shows.
